Cosnics short installation guide

Starting point:

Server updates:

Run sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade to check if your Ubuntu installation is up-2-date.
Restart your server when updates are installed.

Packages:

Install the following packages with sudo apt-get install ...

In one line: sudo apt-get install apache2 php7.0 mysql-server libapache2-mod-php7.0 php7.0-curl php7.0-gd php7.0-mbstring php7.0-mcrypt php7.0-mysql php7.0-xsl php7.0-zip

Enable Apache modules:

Enable mod_rewrite and SSL with the commands sudo a2enmod rewrite and sudo a2enmod ssl

Cosnics ZIP:

Extract the ZIP or TAR file into the folder /var/www

Apache and MySQL config:

Change your apache default website config so the DocumentRoot maps to /var/www/cosnics/web

DocumentRoot /var/www/cosnics/web
Also, add the following code to your config file:
<Directory "/var/www/cosnics/web">
AllowOverride All
</Directory>
Complete example:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName my.website.URL
ServerAdmin admin@mydomain.com
DocumentRoot /var/www/cosnics/web
<Directory "/var/www/cosnics/web">
AllowOverride All
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>
Restart Apache with sudo service apache2 restart

Remove MySQL strict mode as follows:

Create a new config file with sudo nano /etc/mysql/conf.d/disable_strict_mode.cnf
Paste the following code in the file:
[mysqld]
sql_mode=IGNORE_SPACE,NO_ZERO_IN_DATE,NO_ZERO_DATE,ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION

Save the file and restart MySQL: sudo service mysql restart

Installation:

Install Cosnics by going to your server URL

After installation, clear the cache folder by running the command php console chamilo:cache:clear into the /var/www/cosnics folder.
